Andrea Ballarin
Andrea Ballarin, born 1981, after his master’s degree in forestry and environmental sciences obtained at the University of Padova, he deepened themes of environmental safeguard, landscape management and renewable energies production during his PhD “Land Environment Resources and Health” (L.E.R.H.) at the Department of Territory and Agro Forestry Systems (TeSAF) of the College of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Padova, within the Agripolis campus.
During his PhD he developed and focused themes like the economic evaluation of environmental services and benefits, learning different methodologies to concretely estimate them. He furthermore deepened the management of research projects on several topics, acquiring special ability in work group management and tutoring.
The wide themes faced thanks to the different professors of the Department took him to a first impact with projects co-founded by EU Programmes: he participated to several training initiatives – inside and outside Italy – regarding themes like rural development and environmental sustainability also as official representative of the University of Padova.
PhD was also the time in which he developed skills related to teaching and training activities: both at the University, organizing and presenting seminars or lessons for some professors, and at high schools, where he taught economic and scientific subjects for 5 years.
At the beginning of 2009, after his PhD, he became part of the professional Association of Agronomy and Forestry Doctors of the Province of Treviso and started the activity of freelancer as advisor for privates and public bodies, mainly providing services on primary sector and on rural development. Among the different activities, consultancy for the development of projects and for managing funds represented one of the most important ones, thus leading to raise for public and private companies over 99 million euro of funds, corresponding to more than 273 million euros project’s value.
